Maati is the pure organic fragrance of the smell of the first rain or dry ground or Petrichor. It is created using the ancient deg-bhapka technique using a technique that is unchanged for 1000+ years.
Boond is a line of pure, organic, indigenous fragrances. ItĀ is founded by siblings, Krati and Varun who grew up in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh, where perfumes and perfumeries have been omnipresent since time immemorial. Growing up, they had seen Kannaujās organic perfume industry struggle to compete with synthetically created perfumes freely available in the market. When they returned to their hometown during the lockdowns, it was heartbreaking for them to realise that the pandemic could be the final blow to the town's ancient craft of perfume making. Their hope is to support the artisans and play our little part in reviving an ancient Indian craft.
